When and how you use electricity this summer can have an impact on the environment!
During times when more people are using energy, like weekday evenings, it costs more to produce energy and Xcel Energy may need to use more fossil fuels to meet that demand. If we shift our energy use to overnight and earlier in the day, we can use more lower-cost, carbon-free energy like wind and solar.
Plus, if you’re part of Xcel Energy’s Flex Pricing Pilot, you’ll also save money on your Xcel Energy bill when you shift your energy use.
