Sustainable Eden Prairie is an ongoing effort focusing on education and implementation of sustainable practices to protect the environment and natural resources our community enjoys.

Building upon the success of the 20-40-15 initiative, the City is leading by example and providing a foundation for residents and businesses to carry out sustainable practices in four areas — energy, landscape, waste and water.

About 40% of food is wasted somewhere along the supply chain, and much of that food waste happens at home.

To reduce waste at your home, join Hennepin County’s online Stop Food Waste Challenge. You'll learn easy, practical skills to help you stop wasting food, keep more money in your pocket and create a healthier environment. From creating meal plans to properly storing food, your actions can have a big impact on reducing the amount of food in your home that goes to waste.

The challenge runs now through Nov. 10. Create your profile, join or start a team, then browse the categories and actions, and select which actions you’ll take during the four-week challenge.
