John Anderson from Conservation Minnesota presents Mayor Ron Case with Blazing Star Award

|
John Anderson from Conservation Minnesota presented Mayor Ron Case with the Blazing Star Award at the Dec. 6 City Council meeting.
The award acknowledges local governments that advance conservation, climate or the environment. Dakota County and the City of St. Cloud are also receiving Blazing Star Awards this month.
Eden Prairie was recognized for improving fuel efficiency and helping protect the environment by deploying Minnesota's first fully electric patrol vehicle in 2021 in support of the City's Climate Action Plan. Since then the City has added three vehicles to its growing electric fleet, with 10 more planned for the future. By switching from a Dodge Charger to a Tesla Model Y, Eden Prairie reduced a single police vehicle’s greenhouse gas emissions by 81%, helping to protect the environment and community health.
