Last weekend the Edina/Eden Prairie Explorer Post attended the National Cadet Conference in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where they competed against Posts from across the country in a variety of team and individual exercises.
Our Explorer post took home two team awards: 1st place in Use of Force Options and 3rd Place in Unknown Trouble. The Edina/Eden Prairie Post was the only team from Minnesota to place at the conference.
Police Explorers are young people ages 14–21 who are interested in law enforcement. They gain working knowledge through hands-on experience, including weekly meetings and training sessions. That knowledge and experience could eventually lead to a career in law enforcement. Several of our sworn EPPD officers served as Explorers early in their careers.
The Post is currently accepting applications. Apply online or call the EPPD at 952-949-6200.
Congratulations to all of our Explorers!
