Eden Prairie Police have recently received several calls regarding a scammer pretending to be an Eden Prairie officer. 

Several incidents have involved a phone call from a person claiming to be with Eden Prairie Police and telling the potential victim to withdraw several thousand dollars and give it to the officer.  In at least two incidents, the scammers "spoofed" the general Eden Prairie Police phone number (952-949-6200) to make it appear as though the call came from us.

Eden Prairie Police officers will never call you to ask for money or gift cards. 

If you receive a call like those described above, please hang up and do not give the caller your personal or financial information.
