Happy National Clergy Appreciation Month! The City of Eden Prairie’s volunteer Police & Fire Chaplain Unit was started in 1992 to provide a ministry of presence to community members and public safety responders in times of need. They serve on-call, responding to car accidents, deaths, fires and other emergencies, and provide emotional and spiritual care to those affected.
Most of our chaplains serve congregations in Eden Prairie while some are retired pastors living in Eden Prairie. In 2023 Chaplains were dispatched to scenes 22 times. To date in 2024 they have been called out six times.
We are grateful to have our chaplains as partners in public service and thank them for the valuable ministry they provide to our community.
