Registration is open for the Eden Prairie Police Department’s 2026 Youth Citizens Academy!
Sponsored by the Eden Prairie Crime Prevention Fund, this free, three-day course meets 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 15–17, and covers the following topics:
- Communications and 911
- Crime Scene Processing
- DWI/Mock Traffic Stops
- Investigations
- K-9 Unit
- Patrol Operations
- SWAT and Negotiations
- Unmanned Aircraft Systems
- Use of Force
Apply by Friday, May 15
Participants must be ages 14–19, attend or recently graduated high school and be Eden Prairie residents. Applicants under age 18 must have permission to participate from parents/guardians and all applicants must pass criminal background checks. Please note, a notarized signature is required.
