Today Chief Matt Sackett administered the oath of office to the department’s two newest officers, Paxton Pagel and Jacek Hummel.
Officer Pagel graduated from Rochester Century High School and continued his education at Minnesota State University, Mankato where he earned his bachelor's degree in law enforcement. He then completed the Minnesota North Hibbing Skills program and earned his law enforcement certificate. Prior to joining Eden Prairie, he worked as a part-time Community Service Officer for Mankato Public Safety for two years.
Officer Hummel graduated from Shakopee High School before continuing his education at North Dakota State University where he graduated with bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice and psychology. He also attended Alexandria Technical and Community College where he earned his law enforcement certificate.
The new officers will spend the next 3-4 months in the department’s field training program before patrolling on their own.
