The METRO Green Line Extension project is conducting systems testing in preparation for passenger service starting in 2027.
This fall, trains will cross road and trail intersections along the line between Eden Prairie and Minneapolis to test electrical systems, signal equipment and crossing warning lights.
Drivers and pedestrians can expect to see flashing lights, hear warning bells and encounter lowered gate arms at crossings — even if a train isn't visible. For your safety, always obey all signals and gate arms.
Testing will continue throughout 2025 and 2026.
