Welcome Officer Wiebusch!

Trent Wiebusch

Today Chief Matt Sackett administered the oath of office to the department’s newest officer, Trent Wiebusch.

Officer Wiebusch was born and raised in the Twin Cities and graduated from Providence Academy prior to serving a year of mission work in Texas through NET Ministries. He then attended the University of Mary, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with a major in History/Social Studies and a minor in Spanish. Officer Wiebusch taught high school history, geography and political science at a local Minnesota high school, coaching boys football and basketball before transitioning to the public safety profession through a certificate program at Metropolitan State University.

Officer Wiebusch comes to EPPD with a combined five years of experience from the Orono Police Department and Chaska Police Department, where he served as a Use of Force, Less-Lethal Tools and Scenario-Based Training Instructor. Officer Wiebusch is proud to serve and protect alongside his identical twin brother, father and uncle, all of whom work as police officers in the area.

Officer Wiebusch will spend the next 3-4 months in the department’s field training program before patrolling on his own.
