EPPD staff with Jason Daughrity of 3Si on far right

Yesterday a number of EPPD employees, including officers, dispatchers, detectives and records specialists were recognized for their work on two separate incidents that occurred in July 2025 and July 2023.
The recognition came from company called 3Si whose technology was used to help solve both cases.
In the first case on July 8, 2025, EPPD dispatchers were notified by 3Si that a device had been taken from an Eden Prairie retailer. 3Si advised officers of the device’s location in a moving vehicle and officers executed a traffic stop on that vehicle. The driver admitted to taking the device while working as a contractor at the retailer. An additional item was found in the vehicle that had also been stolen from the same store. The suspect was arrested for felony theft.
The second case occurred July 13, 2023, when 3Si tracked a stolen device from an Eden Prairie retailer that ended up in a parked car at a casino in Scott County. Shakopee Police arrested the driver of the car after confirming the stolen device was inside. Officers also found four additional stolen items in the car and learned the driver had an unrelated warrant out for his arrest.
The EPPD would like to extend a big thank you to 3Si for visiting the department and recognizing the hard work of our staff. We appreciate 3Si and the role their technology plays in keeping our community safe.
