At approximately 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, Eden Prairie Police were notified about a rumor among Eden Prairie High School students that a gun was brought into the building.
The building was placed on lockdown to allow police to investigate. After a brief investigation, police identified and apprehended three 16-year-old male students, one of which was in possession of a gun. Two were arrested off campus where the gun was recovered and one was arrested on campus. Police continue to investigate whether the gun was ever on school grounds.
The lockdown has been lifted and there is no active threat to the students or staff at EPHS.
