EPPD officers at a recruiting booth at Asia Mall last weekend as part of the Lunar New Year celebration
Would you or someone you know like to work as a police officer or dispatcher for the Eden Prairie Police Department?
Well, now’s your chance! The EPPD is in the process of recruiting for both positions.
Officer
Candidates hired during this recruitment process who successfully complete their Field Training Program and one year of employment with the City will receive a hiring bonus of $3,500.
The Eden Prairie Police Department is looking to add to our team of incredibly talented Public Safety Telecommunicators (PSTs) who answer 911 calls in Eden Prairie 24/7.
We’re fortunate in Eden Prairie to have our own 911 Emergency Communications Center. Last year our Public Safety Telecommunicators (PSTs) answered 44,408 calls ranging from car lockouts to shoplifting to death investigations. Our PSTs know our officers and firefighters, as well the city itself – its infrastructure, streets, parks, shopping areas, schools, etc. – and are therefore able to provide customized service to people who call 911.
When hiring PSTs, we look for candidates who can communicate in a clear and concise manner, exhibit self-confidence, maintain professionalism while under pressure, make good decisions in a timely manner and perform at a high level of accuracy.
