City Commission Member Appointments

City commission members advise the City Council and help shape the future of Eden Prairie. At its Tuesday, March 3 meeting, the Council appointed commission members to three-year terms beginning April 1. We welcome the new and returning commission members and look forward to the ideas and expertise they will provide.

Polar Plunge Day

At this week's meeting, the City Council proclaimed Saturday, March 14 Eden Prairie Polar Plunge Day, commemorating the event's 19th anniversary in our community, which has successfully raised over $2.3-million for Special Olympics Minnesota. If you would like to join the fun and help raise money for the Special Olympics by either plunging into Lake Riley or pledging a donation, visit plungemn.org/events/eden-prairie/.

Community Band Concert

Join the Eden Prairie Community Band for a free concert, "A Mosaic of Music," from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 8 at the Central Middle School Performing Arts Center (8025 School Road). "A Mosaic of Music" reflects a wide variety of styles from classical to rock 'n' roll.

Figure Skating Club Annual Ice Show

Next weekend the Eden Prairie Figure Skating Club presents "Oz on Ice" at the Community Center (16700 Valley View Road). Step into a celebration of music, movement and magic as skaters of all ages bring the world of "Oz" to life on the ice. Purchase tickets online.

Annual Tree Sale

The City is once again partnering with Tree Trust to bring Eden Prairie residents a special deal on a limited number of trees for purchase. The trees range in size from 3- to 8-feet tall, depending on species, and must be planted on private property. Orders will be available for pickup from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 25 at the Flying Cloud Fields (15219 Pioneer Trail) parking lot. 2026 Everything Spring Expo

The Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 2026 Everything Spring Expo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 14 at Grace Church (9301 Eden Prairie Road). From home improvement, to spring activities and recreation, to spring cleaning and fresh starts, experts offer advice, insight and ideas for all your projects. Find out more.

Planning Commission Public Hearings

There is one public hearing on the Monday, March 9 Planning Commission Meeting agenda for the following proposal:

Chestnut Townhomes — Red Tail Residential is proposing to construct 53 townhome units on 5.72 acres at the corners of Chestnut Drive and Carmody/Windsong Drive.

Police Department Updates

  • The Police Department/City Center remodel project is entering the home stretch with an expected completion date of July or August 2026. The finished project will provide much needed space for the Police Department and will bring all City services up to the main level with additional room rental opportunities for residents.
  • The Police Cadet program is in full swing with five cadets pursuing their schooling to become police officers.
  • The EPPD is also gearing up for another summer of exciting public events partnering with the Fire and Parks and Recreation departments.
