Annual Fire Hydrant Maintenance

Beginning Monday, April 6, utility crews are conducting flushing and maintenance checks on all City fire hydrants. Flushing involves opening the hydrants which removes any sediment that may have accumulated in the pipes. This annual procedure maintains water quality within the distribution system and ensures each of the City's nearly 4,500 fire hydrants are working properly. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to use caution when near the hydrants being tested. Call the City’s Utility Division at 952-949-8530 with questions or concerns.
