
Registration is open for the department’s second annual Youth Citizens Academy which will run from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., June 15–17.
The academy is free and participants will get a chance to learn about a number of topics including 911 dispatching, crime scene processing, DWIs, traffic stops, investigations, K-9s, SWAT, negotiations, drones and use of force. Youth Citizens Academy is sponsored by the Eden Prairie Crime Prevention Fund.
Participants must be between 14–19, attend or recently graduated from high school and be Eden Prairie residents. Applicants under age 18 must have permission to participate from parents/guardians and all applicants must pass criminal background checks. Please note, a notarized signature is required.
To apply, submit the 2026 Youth Citizens Academy application by Friday, May 15.
