On Monday, Chief Matt Sackett administered the oath of office to the department’s newest officer, Keenen Williams.

Officer Williams graduated from Washington Technology Magnet High School in St. Paul then attended Dakota County Technical College where he received an electrical line worker degree. He worked as an electrical line worker for Xcel Energy then later attended Rasmussen University where he received an associate’s degree in law enforcement. Prior to coming to Eden Prairie, Officer Williams served as a community service officer for the Burnsville Police Department for 15 months.

Officer Williams will spend the next 3-4 months in the department’s field training program before patrolling on his own.
