Residents Recognized for City Service

Last week, the City thanked its board and commission members for their volunteer service at a special banquet, and recognized those who have completed their terms of service, including the 2025-2026 class of student commission members. Learn more and view a list of outgoing commission members.

Heritage Preservation Awards

At its Tuesday meeting this week, the City Council presented the 2026 Heritage Preservation Awards to Helen Holden Anderson (posthumously) and The Honorable Paul H. Anderson for their lasting contributions to preserving the history and stories of our community. Read more about the Heritage Preservation Award winners.

Schooner Days

The Eden Prairie Lions Club annual Schooner Days is May 29–31 at Round Lake Park. This year's event features a variety of new food trucks and vendors, and free vision screenings by Lions KidSight USA for children ages 6 months to 18 years. Along with a vendor marketplace, there will also be carnival rides, games and activities for all ages, in addition to bingo and pull tabs in the beer garden. Visit EPSchoonerDays.com for details.

Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed Meetings

The Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District is continuing a series of meetings about the development of a holistic watershed and lake management plan for the Mitchell, Red Rock, Ann, Lucy and Susan sub-watersheds. Eden Prairie residents are invited to attend a meeting with a focus on the Mitchell and Red Rock sub-watersheds Thursday, May 28 in the Cambria Room at the Community Center. Police Department Updates

  • As part of Distracted Driving Awareness Month in April, the EPPD increased enforcement efforts targeting distracted driving. Throughout the month, 52 citations and 33 warnings for distracted driving violations were issued.
  • Also in April, the EPPD partnered with the Drug Enforcement Agency to host a Drug Take Back Day at the Senior Center where 515 pounds of unused medication was collected, surpassing last year’s total by nearly 100 pounds.
  • A free car seat clinic took place May 2 where EPPD car seat technicians completed 24 car seat checks.

The City Center is closed Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. Holiday hours for other City facilities are available at edenprairiemn.gov/Calendar.
