Since 2016, Eden Prairie detectives have participated in 41 sting operations in the metro area that have resulted in arrests of 444 individuals for human trafficking-related offenses.

In addition, they have connected with 117 victims, offering resources such as treatment, housing, jobs and life skills.

Our investigators also collaborate with federal, state and local law enforcement personnel on sting operations, and the “494 Corridor Group” whose core members include the Bloomington, Maple Grove, Minnetonka, Plymouth and Richfield police departments. The group's goal is to investigate crimes related to human trafficking along Interstate 494. In 2025 they arrested 33 sex buyers during sting operations, including 12 arrests in Eden Prairie.

One way you can help combat human trafficking is to participate in the Stop the Trafficking 5K Walk/Run for Justice either in-person June 13 at Purgatory Creek Park or virtually June 13–21. Due to the race’s generous sponsors, 100% of the proceeds go to local and global organizations helping sexually exploited individuals, including Act United, Beloved, Corrie's House, Terebinth Refuge, Niños Para Dios (Colombia) and Daughters of Azaadi (India).

A team comprised of representatives from the EPPD, local churches and businesses are working together to plan this event in cooperation with local anti-trafficking organizations. Their common goal is to join together as a community, raise awareness and engage in the fight to stop the trafficking.
