Mosquito Control Drones

The Metropolitan Mosquito Control District is using drones for mosquito control again this year. The drones range in size and typically fly approximately 200 feet above the targeted area.

Parkinson's Resource Fair

Grow your knowledge of support, classes and services for those with Parkinson’s from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 10 at the Community Center. Open to individuals with Parkinson’s, their friends and family, and the community. Learn more and sign up.

Fitness in the Parks

Fitness in the Parks kicks off Friday, June 12 with POUND® — a full-body cardio jam session designed for all fitness levels. Enjoy classes like yoga, Zumba, tai chi and more all season long at the Staring Lake Park Amphitheatre. Full schedule is available at edenprairiemn.gov/FitnessInTheParks.

Stop the Trafficking 5k Event

Registration is open for the Stop the Trafficking 5K Walk/Run for Justice either in-person June 13 at Purgatory Creek Park or virtually June 13–21. Learn more and register at StopTheTraffickingRun.org/2026.

Planning Commission Agenda Items

The the following application will be presented at the Monday, June 8 Planning Commission meeting:

Marshall Gardens — The applicant is requesting approval to redevelop the property at 9905 Dell Road into 50 single-family residential lots with waivers.

Parks and Recreation Updates

  • Public access AEDs have been installed at Round Lake, Riley Lake and Staring Lake Parks, and at Flying Cloud Fields, with another on the way for Purgatory Creek Park.
  • The Community Center aquatics program received the American Red Cross Training Services Award as a Top Training Provider in the country for a fourth consecutive year. Congratulations to Aquatics Supervisor Nick Remmes and his team!
  • The City is hosting a Minnesota GreenCorps member from September 2026 through August 2027 and applications are due June 16. Learn more and apply at pca.state.mn.us/GreenCorps
