State Primary Absentee Voting Begins June 26

Eligible Eden Prairie residents can vote absentee — either in person or by mail — beginning Friday, June 26 for the Aug. 11 state primary.

Primary elections are when voters decide a party’s candidate for the upcoming general election. Whether you're out of town, busy or simply prefer to vote early, absentee voting offers a convenient way to make your voice heard.

Vote Absentee in Person

In-person absentee voting is available Friday, June 26–Monday, Aug. 10 at Eden Prairie City Center:

Monday–Friday (excluding holidays)
8 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 8
9 a.m.–3 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 10
8 a.m.–5 p.m.

Vote Absentee by Mail

To receive an absentee ballot by mail, voters must submit a Minnesota Absentee Ballot Request.

  • While voters are not required to be preregistered when applying to vote absentee, they are encouraged to Register to Vote first to make the process easier.
  • If you're unsure of your voter status, you can Find Your Minnesota Voter Registration on the Minnesota Secretary of State website.
  • Ballots are mailed to voters within one to two days of receiving applications; completed ballots must be received on or before the Aug. 11 Primary Election.
