Absentee Voting Begins Today
Absentee voting for the Aug. 11 state primary election begins today, Friday, June 26. Eligible Eden Prairie residents can vote absentee by mail or in person at City Center during business hours through Monday, Aug. 10. Final Weekend for Summer Musical
The final performances of the Eden Prairie Players production of "Legally Blonde" are this weekend at the Staring Lake Park Amphitheatre. The shows are free, but donations are accepted. The remaining shows are scheduled at 7 p.m. June 26–28. Information about weather delays or cancellations are posted at edenprairiemn.gov/Updates.
Hometown Hero Award
Congratulations to Assistant Fire Chiefs Justin Johnson and Matt Worthington, and Firefighters Josh Privette and Michael Do, who were honored yesterday with the Freedom 250 Hometown Hero Award for the State of Minnesota by U.S. Attorney Daniel N. Rosen for their heroic actions that saved the life of a child in May 2024. Learn more here.
4th of July Hometown Celebration Events
Eden Prairie's 4th of July Hometown Celebration is a two-day event at Round Lake Park featuring several food trucks, live music and family-friendly activities.
Sparklefest is a free kid-friendly event from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, July 3. The event features self-directed activity stations throughout the park, including art projects, inflatables and kids bingo, culminating in a spectacular sensory-friendly drone show. This year's event kicks off with an Honor Guard and Military Wreath-Laying ceremony at 6 p.m. followed by an Eden Prairie Community Band performance.
Celebrate Independence Day from 4 to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 4 with food and music, a special World Cup viewing area and our annual fireworks show. To mark our nation's 250th anniversary, this year's event includes a T-6 Thunder flyover, featuring four WWII-era T-6 Texan aircraft before the Free & Easy Band takes the stage at 8 p.m.

Night to Unite Registration
This year's Eden Prairie Night to Unite celebration is Tuesday, Aug. 4. It's an opportunity to come together, meet your neighbors and grow the sense of community we have here in Eden Prairie. Register your neighborhood gathering at edenprairiemn.gov/NightToUnite before July 27.
City Named Top Workplace for 13th Consecutive Year
For the 13th year in a row, the City of Eden Prairie has been recognized among "The Minnesota Star Tribune" Top Workplaces. The rankings are based on survey information collected by Energage, an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention. The analysis measures engagement, organizational health and satisfaction, and compares those results with the best-performing and most progressive companies in the state.
Community Development Updates
- Housing and Community Services staff members served 242 walk-in residents from January through May. These residents received support and assistance for employment, housing and other services.
- City appraisers have started the 2026 property review process. Each year, appraisers review 20% of properties in Eden Prairie so that every parcel is reviewed at least once every five years to comply with Minnesota State Law and ensure the information used to determine market value is accurate and up to date. Appraisers are notifying property owners included in this year’s review and expect to complete 4,358 on-site property reviews by the end of summer.
- Work is underway to prepare and complete the 2050 Comprehensive Plan update, which is expected to be a 12 to 18-month process.
