Traffic Signal Optimization Project

The City of Eden Prairie, MnDOT and Hennepin County recently updated traffic signal timing at 32 intersections along Flying Cloud Drive, Prairie Center Drive and Valley View Road. The signals were last adjusted in 2021 and traffic patterns have changed significantly since then. The goal of the project was to improve traffic flow while maintaining safe travel for drivers and pedestrians.

The work included reviewing current traffic conditions, optimizing the signal system timing and making additional refinements based on traffic data and field observations. The new signal timing plan was installed at the end of June and continues to be monitored for any needed adjustments.
