New Police Department Now Open

The Police Department completed moving into its new facility on the west side of City Center this week, and the public lobby and reception area are now open for residents seeking in-person services. The address (8080 Mitchell Road) and phone number (952-949-6200) remain unchanged. Residents can access the new public entrance from either the main City Center parking lot off Mitchell Road or from Scenic Heights Road near Fire Station 1.

Homeward Hills Park Improvement Project Completed

This week the City celebrated the completion of improvements at Homeward Hills Park with a neighborhood ribbon-cutting event and party. Highlights of the project include new and updated playground equipment, our community's fourth splash pad, and fun additions like a gaga ball pit and Nine Square in the Air. Pop-Up Splash Pad Next Week

Beat the summer heat at a Pop-Up Splash Pad event from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 21 at Crestwood Park (9780 Dell Road). Meet Eden Prairie police and firefighters, play lawn games, collect giveaways and more.

Children's Theatre Workshop Production

The Eden Prairie Players Children's Theatre Workshop production of "Miss Nelson is Missing" starts next week with several performances scheduled July 24–25 at the Eden Prairie High School Performing Arts Center (17185 Valley View Road). Eden Prairie's 2026 PeopleFest! celebration is July 26–31 with the main event — the PeopleFest! Round Lake Badminton Nets Available

Hennepin County Outdoor Siren Upgrade Project

Hennepin County is upgrading the control system for nearly 300 outdoor warning sirens owned by cities throughout the county to improve warning accuracy, reliability and maintenance monitoring. The current system will remain in place until the new system is fully tested and operational, and monthly siren tests will continue at 1 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. Residents may occasionally hear brief 10- to 15-second “growl tests” as individual sirens are tested, along with minor timing differences during monthly tests. The project is part of a broader effort to strengthen countywide emergency warning capabilities and reduce false alarms.

GreenStep Cities Sustainability Award

The City of Eden Prairie has been recognized by Minnesota GreenStep Cities for attaining the program’s highest level of achievement for a 10th time. GreenStep Cities is a free, continuous improvement program based on 29 best practices tailored to Minnesota communities. As one of more than 156 participating cities and tribal nations in the 15-year-old program, Eden Prairie has been recognized for its accomplishments each year since 2011 and is helping to lead the way in sustainability across the state of Minnesota.
