The EPPD is happy to announce that we have a new social worker in the department!

Jacques Duce started with us in mid-July, joining Molly Mitley, who was hired as a social work in Eden Prairie in 2022.

Both positions are jointly funded by the City and Hennepin County and the City's portion of Jacques’s position is funded by a grant from the State of Minnesota.

Jacques is originally from Haiti and came to Minnesota on a full scholarship to study cross cultural communication at Bethany Global University in 1999. He then obtained a master’s in leadership at Crown College, a diploma in addiction counseling from Minneapolis Community and Technical College, and an MA in psychology and counseling services from St. Mary’s University. 

For the past two years, Jacques has worked for Hennepin County as a social worker conducting assessments for people with substance use disorders. Prior to that, he spent 12 years in various roles working with individuals struggling with chemical dependency issues and mental health problems. 

Jacques and Molly will work together to connect residents with the support services they need.
