Eden Prairie Police Department squad vehicles are getting a fresh look for the first time in 20 years.

The department has updated the black-and-white design introduced in 2005 to a modern all-black design featuring high-contrast reflective graphics for increased visibility day and night.

Three squads currently feature the new design. As older squads reach the end of their service life, the updated graphics will be introduced through the City's normal vehicle replacement cycle, resulting in no additional cost.

Existing squads will remain in service until they're retired, meaning residents will see both designs on the road for the next several years.
