Minnesota State Primary Turnout

Eden Prairie voters cast 12,222 ballots in Tuesday’s state primary election, with 9,812 casting votes at their precincts on Election Day and 2,410 voting absentee from June 26 through Aug. 10.

The busiest precincts on Election Day were:

• Precinct 14 (Pax Christi) — 650 voters
• Precinct 16 (Pax Christi) — 637 voters
• Precinct 18 (Prairie Community Church) — 609 voters

Voters can request absentee ballots now for the Nov. 3 General Election at MNVotes.gov. In-person absentee voting begins Friday, Sept. 18 at City Center. Learn more at edenprairiemn.gov/Elections.

Arts in the Park

Eden Prairie's annual Arts in the Park event is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 at Purgatory Creek Park. More than 100 artists and vendors will be selling items such as artwork, homemade beauty products, artisan foods, unique clothing and more. National Nonprofit Day: Know the Resources Available

Monday, Aug. 17 is National Nonprofit Day, recognizing the important role nonprofit organizations play in strengthening communities. Eden Prairie is fortunate to have many nonprofits providing valuable services and resources to our residents. Together with many other organizations serving Eden Prairie, these nonprofits help meet a wide range of community needs — from food, housing and employment assistance to services for families, seniors and youth. Staff News

• Ruby Jimenez recently joined the City as a housing and community service specialist. Before joining the City, Ruby worked for the Community Action Partnership agency, a local nonprofit, and Scott County as a contracted case manager.
• Eden Prairie Police Officer Tino Starke has been promoted to the position of Sergeant. Sgt. Starke has worked as an EPPD officer since 2017.
