This project required meticulous planning, organization, strict adherence to chain of custody, and an extraordinary amount of physical labor.

Before a single item could be relocated, they needed to do a complete inventory of all property and evidence. Kyle developed a comprehensive plan that balanced the operational needs of the Property Room with the timeline of the project, while John played an instrumental role in executing that plan. Together they dedicated four hours per day, four days per week, to conducting a full inventory in just 13 working days.

Following the inventory, Kyle and John immediately began relocating 15,500 pieces of property. They moved cart after cart of items to the new facility in the summer heat, all while maintaining a secure chain of custody and minimizing the risks associated with operating two separate property locations. During this time, neither employee was relieved of their daily responsibilities. Kyle successfully managed the day-to-day operations of the Property Room while planning and overseeing the project and John continued fulfilling his daily responsibilities as an Animal Control Officer while dedicating countless hours to the move.

Collectively, Kyle and John have devoted more than eight decades of service to the Eden Prairie Police Department. Their institutional knowledge, unwavering work ethic, and commitment to excellence have benefited this organization for many years. This project was another demonstration of their dedication.
