Lt. Rob Johnston began his career in Eden Prairie as an officer in 2004. His law enforcement career began in 1997 working for the South Lake Minnetonka Police Department, Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office and the Breezy Point Police Department, before coming to Eden Prairie.

During his tenure with Eden Prairie, Lt. Johnston has served as a Retail Crime Unit officer, Explorer Post advisor, Mental Health Unit member, Training Unit instructor, Crime Prevention Team member and field training officer. He was promoted to sergeant in 2017.

Lt. Johnston earned an associate’s degree from Central Lakes College in Brainerd.
