In her teaching, Rita (she/her) works to engage the learning styles and goals of each student. She emphasizes patience and observation, and fosters a supportive environment where students feel comfortable taking creative risks. Rita likes to remind her students that pottery has (almost) no rules! She worked with a mentor for a year and completed a ceramics residency in Oaxaca, Mexico in March 2025, spending one month working with the local clay, studying pottery in the area and exploring various hand-building and wheel techniques. Rita teaches across three different studios in the area.
