Dragana (she/her) brings a direct, open and often humorous approach to the classroom — clear and no-nonsense, but always in a supportive way. With more than 30 years running her own studio in Cape Town, South Africa, her ceramic work has found its way into homes across five continents! She is observant and pays close attention to how each person learns so that she can help them grow, whether they’re just starting out or have been working in clay for years.

Dragana is continually inspired by people who are curious and want to learn. She makes the process of working with clay both fun and meaningful, like a creative game, but grounded in solid technique and thoughtful guidance. Dragana studied art and philosophy at the University of Belgrade, and earned a bachelor's degree in music at the Belgrade Faculty of Music Arts.

Fun Facts

• Dragana is especially passionate about cooking — everything from Serbian dishes to Asian and Indian cuisine, and always experimenting.
• Before moving to the U.S., she spent 19 years in South Africa working with Fine Music Radio, where she hosted well-loved programs focused on jazz, classical and world music.
• She has a long-standing love for the deep blue sea from her time as a scuba diving instructor, and she's happy to trade that these days for winter adventures on skis
• Her pieces have been featured in magazines and in the documentary film "Achievers," which explores the process of building a small business.
