The Art Center accepts reservation requests up to two months in advance of the date requested.

Bookings are subject to facility and instructor availability.

A variety of birthday party options are also available at the Community Center and the Outdoor Center.

Cost

Parties start at $189 for up to 10 children (includes Birthday Artist)

• Additional participants may be added at $20 per child
• $25 surcharge added for parties if booking family does not live or work in Eden Prairie
• Projects that are clay or glass based are priced at $209 for up to 10 guests. Clay and glass based projects must be left at the Art Center after the party to be fired and are typically ready within 2–3 weeks for pickup. Party hosts will be notified when projects are ready for pickup.

Ages 5 and Older

Appropriate for guests 5 years and older; adjusted as needed based on the ages of the group.

Clay Sculptures*
Create a unique creature out of clay. With guided instructions from an Art Center teaching artist, guests learn to build a basic pinch pot and use extra clay and their newly gained skills to transform it into a one-of-a-kind creature or animal.

Clay Tiles*
Clay tiles can be used as decoration, a gift, a cool marker for a garden and more. Guests learn to design and make their own unique tile using texture, shape and color.

Mask Making
Create your very own one-of-a-kind mask for a spectacular celebration. Guests use a mask mold as the foundation for all kinds of decorations such as feathers, beads, sequins, tissue paper, glitter, stickers and more. Arrive as a birthday party visitor and leave as a superhero, majestic animal, alien invader — whatever your imagination comes up with!

Ages 8 and Older

Appropriate for guests 8 years and older; adjusted as needed but cannot be chosen for parties with children under the age of 8.

Clay Pots*
Learn the ancient technique of rolling coils to create a beautiful clay pot. With guidance from an Art Center teaching artist, guests build their own pot by hand and then add colors to truly make it pop.

Painting on Canvas
Join us for the opportunity to create your very own masterpiece. Guests explore with paint on canvas board and receive guided instructions from an Art Center teaching artist. If you’d like to have a theme for the painting extravaganza, let us know. Examples of themes used before are landscape, abstract selfies, animals, shapes and color.

Ages 10 and Older

Appropriate for guests 10 years and older; adjusted as needed but cannot be chosen for parties with children under the age of 10.

Fused Glass*
Step into the beautiful world of glass in this fun and fast-paced project offering. Guests learn how to assemble various glass pieces to produce a colorful 5-by-5 inch tile with their own unique style.

Printmaking
Jump into the exciting world of printmaking to create a special card for the birthday host or to give to friends and family. Guests learn how to use textured, everyday objects or an EZ Cut printing block and ink to produce one-of-a-kind cards for any occasion.

Clay Slab Project*
Discover the beauty and accessibility of clay slab in this fun project offering. Guests use the Art Center’s ceramic slab roller to create a flat surface that can be cut into a unique shape. Then add texture, use pottery techniques like scratching and slipping and add gorgeous color glazes to finish a piece of ceramic art.

Ages 18+

Host a birthday party, bridal shower, staff team building session or friends night out at the Art Center!

A teaching artist leads your group through a fun arts-based project in a theme or medium of your choice. Hosts may bring store-bought food and refreshments. If bringing wine or beer, all participants must be 21+ and provide a state-issued ID. Adult Parties include 90 minutes of instruction and an additional 30 minutes either before or after the art project to gather. A party room is provided.

Cost

Adult parties require a minimum of 5 participants. Smaller private events are available, but will be charged a minimum of 5 guests.

Ages 6+

Schedule a group class or outing with the Art Center. Perfect for friends, Scout groups, church groups, etc. A group class usually lasts between 2–4 hours depending on the art medium and age of the participants. Some examples include clay, jewelry making, painting, mixed media or fused glass. Prices vary based on group size and art media.

Ages 6+

One-on-one instruction from our teaching artists in the medium of your choice, including but not limited to ceramics, fused glass, drawing, painting, cold metal jewelry work, fiber/weaving, paper making and more.

Sessions take place at the Art Center based on teaching artist availability, studio schedules and participant preference. Participants provide their own materials or may purchase limited supplies from the Art Center.
