2026 Surface Seal Project

Project Summary

During the surface seal project, crews will apply a maltene-based rejuvenating agent to the street, followed by a fine layer of limestone. This will lead to the reduction of raveling, pitting, cracks, potholes and other signs of aging, and will extend the life of the pavement.

This project will take place in various locations throughout Eden Prairie, as shown on the map below. Work will begin in the northwest corner of the city and conclude in the southeast corner. Residents in the project area will be notified approximately two to three weeks before work begins.

What to Expect During Construction

Access to homes will be maintained throughout the project.
“No Parking” signs will be placed along the street in advance of construction. If a vehicle remains on the street at the time of surface seal and the owner cannot be located, the vehicle will be towed.
Once the sealant is placed, avoid driving on the street until the sealant has cured, which occurs approximately 20 minutes after placement but may take up to a few hours. If driving is necessary immediately after sealant placement, drive slow and use cation.
Caution should also be used until the excess limestone is swept up, which typically happens within three days after application.
