Community Center Updates

There are currently about 4,180 Eden Prairie Community Center members, and while overall membership is still returning to pre-pandemic numbers, members are visiting the facility more than ever. Open skate, open swim and open gym all set record-breaking attendance during our unseasonably warm winter. During the 10 days of winter break, there were approximately 10,000 visitors to the Community Center. Patrons are using the facility at a rate we have never seen before — gathering, being active and creating community.

In response to community feedback open badminton was recently incorporated into the gym schedule. The program was filled within a few weeks and has remained that way in the months since. Due to its success and popularity, staff are looking to add another open badminton session.

There are several events occurring at the Community Center in March, including the Eden Prairie Figure Skating Club Annual Ice Show March 8–10 (learn more and purchase Ice Show tickets), a new aquatics program called Canoe Battleship (ages 18+) on Friday, March 15 (register for Canoe Battleship), and the annual Floating Egg Hunt (ages 3 to 12 with adult) on Saturday, March 30 (register for Floating Egg Hunt).

  • To brighten the stores and reduce energy costs, lighting at all three locations was upgraded with new LED fixtures in 2023.

Several other special events are also planned throughout the year. Subscribe to receive Eden Prairie Liquor emails or text messages to stay informed about the latest news and events.
