Economic Development Update
At its Tuesday, April 2 workshop, Economic Development Manager Dave Lindahl provided an update of recent business engagement activities to the City Council.
- In March, the City hosted a “Breakfast with the Mayor” event at Starkey Hearing with Eden Prairie-based medical and biomedical technology companies. Greater MSP, the economic development agency for the metro region, presented an overview of the new Med Tech 3.0 initiative and Eden Prairie Schools presented an overview of the Innovation Sandbox space planned at Eden Prairie High School. The space will support business and entrepreneurial curriculum and be available for use by Eden Prairie-based entrepreneurs.
- Throughout the year the Mayor and City staff visit local businesses for "Meet and Greet" meetings. Since the program began in 2002, there have been more than 400 Meet and Greets.
- The City hosts Realtor Forums every two years to keep local realtors informed of community developments. This event includes a bus tour of the City, in addition to a presentation from the Eden Prairie School District.
