Since the 20-40-15 initiative was launched in 2006, energy efficiency improved in City facilities by 21.8 percent and fuel efficiency improved in the City’s vehicle fleet by 44.4 percent. With the accomplishment of these goals at the end of 2015, the City began planning for its next “green” initiative.

Sustainable Eden Prairie is an ongoing effort focusing on education and implementation of sustainable practices to protect the environment and natural resources our community enjoys. The City will lead by example, providing a foundation for residents and businesses to carry out sustainable practices in four areas of concentration – energy, landscape, waste and water.
