Renewable Energy Challenge
As part of the Sustainable Eden Prairie initiative, the City is challenging residents to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reach the City's Energy Action Plan goals by subscribing to renewable energy programs.
New renewable energy subscribers who sign up in October can enter to win an energy-related prize. Residents can subscribe to renewable energy programs through their electricity providers. A contest entry form must be completed by Wednesday, Oct. 31 to be eligible for the prize drawing. Read more about contest eligibility, rules and enter at edenprairie.org/EnergyChallenge.
Sustainability Recognition
At the Sept. 18 City Council meeting, Council Members accepted Eden Prairie's second Step 5 award for achievements in the GreenStep Cities program. Learn more about Eden Prairie's GreenStep achievements.
Campaign Signs
In the midst of election season, campaign signs become a prominent feature throughout the City. In general, signs are allowed on private property but not in the public right of way or on publicly owned land, street signs or utility poles. Read more about campaign sign regulations.
Finalist for Best MN Town
"Minnesota Monthly" has named Eden Prairie as a top 10 finalist for "Best MN Town of 2018." Finalists were selected based on information submitted about their towns' histories, geographic and cultural challenges and opportunities, beloved landmarks, diversity, community events and resources, and outstanding citizens. Emergency Repair Program for Seniors
The City offers home improvement grants for Eden Prairie homeowners age 60 or older who need emergency home repairs. Residents could be eligible for loans of up to $5,000 for emergency repairs including water heaters, furnaces and central air conditioners, and accessibility upgrades.
