PeopleFest! A Community Celebration of Culture
Eden Prairie's annual PeopleFest! begins tonight. PeopleFest! A Community Celebration of Culture takes place from July 30 through Aug. 14, and is a series of community events, camps and programs that reflect the unique cultures represented in Eden Prairie.
Tonight's free events take place at Staring Lake Amphitheatre:
- 6–7 p.m., Arts Activity with artist, Geno Okok — Learn about the significance of masks from around the world and the cultures they come from. Visitors view examples of tribal masks and are guided through the process of designing their own to take home.
- 7–9 p.m., PeopleFest! Kick-Off and Native Pride Dancers Performance — Come enjoy traditional Native American dance. The Eden Prairie Human Rights and Diversity Commission will begin with a Land Acknowledgement.

Neighborhood Night at the Fire Station
All four Eden Prairie Fire Stations will be open to the public from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5 for Neighborhood Night at the Fire Station. Bring the family to meet the firefighters, tour the station and see what the inside of a fire truck looks like.
Arts in the Park
Mark your calendars for the annual Eden Prairie Arts in the Park on Saturday, Aug. 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Shop for artwork, homemade beauty products, artisan foods, unique clothing and more while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Purgatory Creek Park. Organics Recycling Coming Soon
As of Nov. 1, 2021, all waste haulers licensed in Eden Prairie to service residential households with their own recycling containers will be required to also offer organics recycling collection. Service is provided on a subscription basis similar to yard waste collection. Learn more at hennepin.us/Organics.
