Annual Fire Hydrant Flushing
Beginning Monday, April 8, flushing and maintenance checks on all City fire hydrants are occurring for approximately three weeks. Flushing involves opening the hydrants which removes any sediment that may have accumulated in the pipes. This annual procedure maintains water quality within the distribution system and ensures each of the City's nearly 4,500 fire hydrants are working properly. Motorists are asked to use caution when driving in and around the sites being tested. Call the City’s Utility Division at 952-949-8530 with questions or concerns.

Low Salt Design Pilot City
At this week's City Council meeting, Eden Prairie was recognized as a Low Salt Design Pilot City by Bolton & Menk, Inc. for its leadership in exploring new approaches to chlorine reduction that improve winter safety and reduce the need for salt. The City is extremely fortunate for the dedication and commitment to reducing chloride pollution by Lori Haak, our water resources coordinator.
Planning Commission Agenda
The Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. Monday, April 8 in the Council Chambers. There are public hearings scheduled for the following proposals.
Enclave at Manor Road: The applicant is requesting approval to subdivide the property into 17 single-family lots at 6591 168th Ave. West. The property is located about a quarter mile north of Duck Lake, on the east side of 168th Ave. West.
Lotus Villas at Anderson Lakes: The existing 41,000-square-feet office space was built in 1982. The property owners propose to redevelop the property with a 19-lot single-family residential development with a single, looped private road.
Asia Mall Parking Lot Expansion: After Asia Mall opened in November 2022, it quickly became apparent that the available parking did not meet the business needs for the property which resulted in safety concerns for both pedestrians and motorists along Technology Drive. This proposal expands the parking lot with 134 additional parking stalls.
