Spring Recycling Opportunities

Eden Prairie's Spring Recycling Drop-Off Event is Saturday, May 4, from 8 a.m. to noon at the City's Yard Waste Site (9811 Flying Cloud Drive). Drop off appliances, household electronics, furniture (including mattresses) and more to be recycled by Certified Recycling. The event is open to Eden Prairie residents only with a valid ID for proof of residency.

The Spring Recycling Curbside Pickup runs May 1–31, and provides an opportunity to recycle appliances, tires, power equipment and more, directly from your curb. Call Certified Recycling at 952-894-1448 to schedule pickup Monday through Friday.

Yard Waste Site Open

The City's Yard Waste Site (9811 Flying Cloud Drive) is open for the season and available for use by Eden Prairie residents and businesses free of charge. The site is open seasonally Friday through Sunday. Hours of operation, guidelines for use and a list of accepted materials are available at edenprairie.org/YardWaste.

Small Business Week

At its April 16 meeting, the City Council proclaimed Sunday, April 28 through Saturday, May 4 as "Small Business Week" in Eden Prairie. Join us in supporting the contributions of Eden Prairie's small businesses to the economy by shopping small. Learn more about National Small Business Week.

Hennepin County Lead Paint Removal Grants

If your home was built before 1978 it may contain lead paint, which is dangerous to young children. Hennepin County is offering lead removal grants for up to $15,000 for qualifying households. Find more information and see if you qualify at hennepin.us/LeadControl.

First-Quarter 2024 Fire Department Updates

  • The Fire Department responded to 763 calls for service, compared to 717 calls for service during the same period in 2023
  • 72% of Q1 calls were for medical events, 22% for fire events and 6% for other events
  • 811 existing and new rental occupancies were inspected to protect the health, safety and welfare of residents
  • 4 new Duty Crew Firefighters joined the EPFD
  • 5,682 training hours were completed between weekly, recruitment, specialized and professional development training events

Our Spring Employee Recognition Event took place this past Wednesday where we welcomed new employees, recognized employees for years of service milestones and presented our annual "EPy" Awards to employees who consistently go above and beyond to serve the people of Eden Prairie.
