Recycling/Disposal Events

The City of Eden Prairie offers several recycling opportunities for residents each year.

Only items listed on the price sheets are accepted, no batteries, light bulbs, household hazardous waste or other materials are collected.

All events are open to Eden Prairie residents only with valid ID for proof of residency.

Details for 2026 will be posted here in the spring.

Recycling Drop-Off Events FAQ
- How can I recycle yard waste and organic materials?
  Yard Waste
  
  Yard waste can be disposed of at several locations in Hennepin County and at the City's Yard Waste Site, which is open the last Friday in April through the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Learn more at edenprairiemn.gov/YardWaste.
  
  Organics
  
  Hennepin County now requires all residential trash haulers serving Eden Prairie to offer curbside organics recycling services to most households within the City, except for multifamily properties with shared waste collection. Learn more at edenprairiemn.gov/Organics.
  
  Organics recycling can also be taken to Hennepin County drop-off facilities.
- How do I access the Yard Waste Site for the recycling drop-off events?
  - Traffic is directed to enter event site from northbound Flying Cloud Drive only
  - Left turn lane from southbound Flying Cloud Drive into site closed
  - Exiting traffic must take a right onto northbound Flying Cloud Drive, no left turns allowed
- How much of the materials collected are actually recycled?
  Certified Recycling recycles 98.6% of everything they pick up.
- Is the City making money on these recycling events?
  No, all fees go to the vendor for labor, equipment and processing.
