Garbage and Recycling

Waste

When you toss something in the garbage, it’s taken to a landfill or incinerator.

Much of the waste could be reused, recycled, donated, repurposed or composted.

Landfills and incinerators are expensive and reducing the amount of trash collected helps reduce the economic and environmental costs of disposal. The City regularly publishes information about recycling, water conservation and other useful sustainable living practices.

Additional recycling and yard waste disposal information is available from Hennepin County's Green Disposal Guide.

Thank you for your efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle!
