Rooftop Solar Grant

The City’s preliminary grant application to install rooftop solar on the Eden Prairie Liquor location on Den Road was approved as part of the state's Solar on Public Buildings grant program. Staff will now work on a process to solicit bids for the installation and finalize the application. This is the second Solar on Public Buildings grant the City has secured, after previously being awarded a grant for a solar installation on Fire Station #1. Each grant covers 50% of the project cost to install solar and an additional 30% of costs are covered by federal incentives.

State of the City Luncheon

The 2025 State of the City Luncheon is Thursday, Jan. 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Eden Prairie Schools Valley View Property (11840 Valley View Road). This annual Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce event is open to all members of the community and includes updates from the Chamber president, Eden Prairie Schools superintendent and City manager. Snowtime Saturdays

On Saturdays from 1 to 3 p.m, cross-country skis (youth and adult), kicksleds and snowshoes are available to check out for free at the Outdoor Center, dependent on weather. On snowless days, enjoy alternative naturalist-led activities like scavenger hunts and fire-building. No need to register, just drop in for fun! Learn more at edenprairie.org/ParkAndPlay.

Staff News

Beth Sams, longtime Police Department dispatcher, is retiring after 34 years of service. Beth is the second-longest tenured employee currently in the department and has been employed with the City since June 1990. Beth was one of six dispatchers hired the year Eden Prairie installed its own 911 radio system and worked on the very first day the system went live. Congratulations Beth!
