Park and Play Program | City of Eden Prairie

Explore and try out new activities in Eden Prairie's parks year-round.

Park and Play provides a variety of equipment to check out for FREE.

Play some pickleball, cruise the lake by canoe or test your aim on the disc golf course — all with free equipment available throughout the summer. When winter rolls around, the adventure continues with snow tubes, snowshoes and ice skates.

Outdoor Center Canoe Rentals

For youth ages 14–17, parents/guardians must remain in the park or join on an adjacent watercraft
Youth under 14 must have an accompanying adult in the canoe with them
Photo ID and signed waiver required for checkout
Equipment available to use for up to 1 hour
Life jackets are provided or users may bring their own U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets
Naturalists are available to provide brief instructions for beginner paddlers
Watercraft available on a first-come, first-served basis; reservations cannot be made in advance
Adaptive canoes available — email the Outdoor Center to schedule

Equipment checkout available seasonally at the Outdoor Center, dependent on weather. Alternate naturalist-led activities, like scavenger hunts and fire building, will take place if there isn't adequate snow on the ground.

Traveling Skates

Enjoy the free use of ice skates and explore Eden Prairie's different parks and outdoor ice rinks.

The program is funded by a grant from Hennepin County and the Minnesota Department of Health Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP).
