Mayor Proclaims May as Senior Awareness Month

The City of Eden Prairie celebrates and acknowledges the many contributions and accomplishments of older adults, and recognizes organizations that serve older adults and enhance community involvement across generations. The City has celebrated Senior Awareness Month since 1993.

 

PROCLAMATION
City of Eden Prairie
Hennepin County, Minnesota

WHEREAS, the increasing number of seniors in Eden Prairie bring many opportunities and challenges for all components of our City – families, businesses, and government; and

WHEREAS, every segment of our society is influenced by the needs, resources and expertise of our senior; and awareness improves participation and action; and

WHEREAS, our Eden Prairie seniors play a pivotal role in formal and informal education, sharing years of accumulated experience and wisdom which will impact our future; and

WHEREAS, the community wishes to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions and accomplishments of the seniors in our community and recognize the organizations that serve older adults; and

WHEREAS, Senior Awareness Month recognizes that seniors are an integral part of our community.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Eden Prairie City Council does hereby proclaim May 2025 as:

SENIOR AWARENESS MONTH

ADOPTED by the Eden Prairie City Council on this 6th day of May 2025.
