Taste of the Prairie
The Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce (EPCC) is hosting Taste of the Prairie Thursday, June 12 from 4 to 5 p.m. at Fat Pants Brewing Co. (8335 Crystal View Road). Taste of the Prairie is Eden Prairie’s signature summer celebration, featuring unlimited food samples from local restaurants, live music, games and vendor engagement activities. Heritage Preservation Award
At its Tuesday meeting this week, the City Council presented the 2025 Heritage Preservation Award to Eden Prairie Schools. They were recognized for actively preserving and celebrating the district's educational history, particularly the Historic Gym, through community engagement and commemorative efforts. Senior Awareness Month

Curbside Pickup Continues
Throughout May, Eden Prairie residents can recycle appliances, tires, power equipment, electronics, propane tanks, exercise equipment, furniture, mattresses, box springs and more, directly from the curb. Light bulbs and batteries are not accepted. Only Eden Prairie residents are eligible, and all items must be free from hazardous substances. Home Energy Squad Visit in May
Eden Prairie homeowners who are Xcel Energy or CenterPoint Energy customers are eligible to save $50 on a home energy audit in May. Visits normally cost $100 and are valued at more than $600. During the typical 2.5-hour Home Energy Squad visit, a team of consultants installs energy-saving materials, performs diagnostic tests and develops a customized plan for saving energy. SouthWest Transit Workshop
At this week's City Council Workshop, Southwest Transit (SWT) CEO Erik Hansen provided an annual update of SWT operations. Total ridership in 2024 was 537,877, an increase of 20.5% from 2023. Ridership for special events including the Renaissance Festival and Twins, Wild and Timberwolves home games increased 55% over 2023. He also gave an update on the new 686 Route, which provides service to MSP Terminals 1 and 2. Learn more about SouthWest Transit.
Shredding Event
Shred your unwanted, important papers to keep your identity safe at the Eden Prairie Senior Center (8950 Eden Prairie Road) from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, May 14. Two paper bags per person; no three-ring binders or plastic bags.& No need to register; just drive through the Senior Center back parking lot. Event is free and all are welcome.
