They Call Me Q
On Thursday, Sept. 6, enjoy a free theatrical performance — They Call Me Q — at the Hennepin Technical College Auditorium from 11 a.m. to noon. The emotionally charged comedy is about a girl from Bombay growing up in the Boogie Down Bronx who gracefully seeks balance between the cultural pressures brought forth by her traditional parents and wanting acceptance into her new culture. This performance is presented in partnership by Hennepin Technical College's Equity & Inclusion Office, Diversity Committee, Student Life & Career Development and the City of Eden Prairie's Human Rights and Diversity Commission.
Post-play discussion and lunch to follow, no charge, from noon to 1 p.m. in HTC's Gourmet Dining Room.
Citywide Open House
Mark your calendars for the biennial Citywide Open House Saturday, Oct. 6. Explore City facilities and equipment up close and see how the City of Eden Prairie serves you. Enjoy entertainment, tours and refreshments, and police, fire and public works vehicles. It's an event for all ages! Stop by the City Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
