  Most street lights in the City of Eden Prairie are owned and maintained by Xcel Energy and you can report the problem by calling Xcel at 800-960-6235.

• What are the road weight restrictions within the City?

  Road restrictions are typically in effect from March 1 to May 1.

  The City follows MnDOT Seasonal Load Limits, and can issue over-weight permits for special circumstances by calling 952-949-8330.

  In addition, some local roads have year-round weight restrictions which are posted at each end of the restricted section of roadway.

  County roads are limited to 10 tons per axle year-round.

  State highway load limits are determined by MnDOT.

• What if my property is damaged by a snow plow?

  The City repairs mailboxes and sod that are damaged by physical contact with City-operated plow trucks.

  The City accepts responsibility for properly installed, USPS-compliant mailboxes — if the damage is a result of being physically struck by a plow blade, wing or other piece of City equipment.
  
  The City also repairs irrigation systems and turf or sod that is damaged by snow removal equipment.
  
  Damage must be reported by June 1 each year.
