Call for Artists

Rotating Art Series

Eden Prairie is committed to supporting public art and community-based programming to support creative expression, spark dialogue and reinforce a sense of community.

The City is looking for innovative artists to display existing work, create new work or propose a purposeful art happening for the Rotating Art Series.

Artists retain ownership of their work unless the nature of the work prevents it or they choose to donate it to the City
Pieces are typically shown for one year, from June 2025–June 2026
Physical artwork must be appropriate for Minnesota’s extreme weather if exhibited outdoors; there are a few indoor locations that may be used for installations or art happenings
Stipends available ranging from $750–$2,000

How to Apply

Send all required materials to ArtSubmissions@edenprairie.org in one email with the subject line "Rotating Art Series Application."
If digital attachments are too large to email, please submit through Google Drive or Dropbox to ArtSubmissions@edenprairie.org and note this in your submission email
Artists may submit more than one work/art happening for consideration, not to exceed three total options

Artists must provide the materials and/or equipment and be able to deliver, install, disassemble and remove any selected work for the exhibit period and have the resources to do so. If any assistance is needed, it must be requested in the submission and assistance is not guaranteed.

Required Submission Materials

Existing work: submit 2–3 high quality digital images of each submitted work/project (videos less than 1 minute may be submitted in lieu of digital images)
New work: submit 2–3 high quality digital images of previous work and concept art/project proposal for each new work being submitted (videos less than 1 minute may be submitted in lieu of digital images)
Image list with title, date, media and dimensions (existing or previous work)
Minimum stipend amount needed to display work for one year, including installation and disassembly costs ($750–$2,000)
Brief statement describing each submitted work/project, including concept, materials and process
Artist résumé
Installation requirements and specifications for each submitted work/project

Rotating Art Details and Guidelines

Visiting potential sites to get a feel for the landscape and design recommended
Site tours available upon request
The jury committee reviews proposals and selects winners based on quality of work samples, benefit to the community or exhibit location, strength of proposal and durability as a public art work
Proposals for sculpture, murals, installations, projection and other media as appropriate for public outdoor display or art happenings are accepted
Exhibited work is unattended and accessible to the public at all times, this is not a traditional art exhibition of paintings, photographs, etc.
Artists of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply as the Rotating Art Series aims to reflect the diversity of our community

Public Art Locations

There are many possible locations for public art installations throughout Eden Prairie, including parks and public facilities.

Potential locations include the Art Center, Purgatory Creek Park, Senior Center and other Eden Prairie park locations.
