City Council/EP School Board Joint Meeting

At this week's Council workshop, City Council members and staff met with the Eden Prairie School Board and district staff for their annual joint meeting. City leaders provided an update on Quality of Life survey data, demographic trends, and recent development and redevelopment sites. School district leaders presented information on district survey results and projected enrollment. Our community is unique in that the City and Eden Prairie Schools share almost identical boundaries, and the City is extremely appreciative for our strong partnership with the school district.

Eden Prairie Lioness Lions Club Donation

This week, the City Council accepted a generous $24,000 donation from the EP Lioness Lions Club to support two important community initiatives — the establishment of native pollinator gardens and the purchase and installation of two outdoor SaveStations equipped with public access AEDs at Riley Lake Park and Staring Lake Park. This contribution represents a significant step toward enhancing both the beauty and safety of our parks, ensuring visitors have immediate access to lifesaving equipment while enjoying Eden Prairie’s park amenities.

LRT Testing Reminder

Beginning next week, METRO Green Line Extension trains will cross road and trail intersections along the line between Eden Prairie and Minneapolis to test electrical systems, signal equipment and crossing warning lights. Drivers and pedestrians can expect to see flashing lights, hear warning bells and encounter lowered gate arms at crossings — even if a train isn't visible. Testing will continue throughout 2025 and 2026. Watch this METRO Green Line Extension video to learn more.
